Basic Keyword Research Tool and SEO Process for Beginners. Finding the keywords for your to target shouldn't be a guessing game. You can go after the words that people are using to find you. Let's start with On Page optimization. Are your website pages optimized with the keywords that you're interested in or focused on? The importance is like this. Imagine a website all about oranges the owner would have a hard time getting his website to rank about apples. Because when Google crawls the website and you're focusing on apples. Google will start scratching its head. How can you say you're a website about apples and nothing on the web page or the website at all has a single "apple" word. They will actually flag you and think you are trying to game the system. Now, if you were targeting the keywords dealing with oranges, Google is more likely to believe you because when the links that are pointing to your website are talking about oranges, and you're a website all about oranges. Google is going to say, "You're relevant to oranges." So, make sure you're on page SEO is extremely optimized for the keyword, then you can market with those few of those keywords. Pay Per Click Advertising for Small Business Done Right

pay per click campaigns for small businessPay Per Click does have a lot to offer you when you use them in your paid advertising efforts.  You can still get a lot of bang for your dollar.  Firstly, our pay per click for small businesses campaigns are unique on so many levels.  One of the things about PPC is that it’s a massive beast.  Sometimes I forget just how much work tends to go into it.  A lot of times why PPC or any paid advertising service gets a bad rap is because a user doesn’t get good results.  Chances are a person is doing it by themselves.  Because hiring an agency might be too expensive for them.  That can be a matter of conjecture.

Hiring the wrong agency is too expensive.  Doing it by yourself can be too expensive unless you know what you’re doing.   Not hiring Zion Port to do your paid advertising campaigns is also too expensive to ignore.  Google is often changing their interface for PPC, but not only that if you don’t know what you can do with PPC for one you’re going to end up blowing all of your budgets.  There is a lot of things to consider when taking on this task.

Not to mention that Adwords have extensions and when Zion Port finally gets a client that allows us to take on their advertising campaign we have so much to clean up and before the hour is over you can generally see why the campaign never worked.

What makes Zion Port Different?

Let’s not focus on how we’re different.  Let’s focus on why we are different.  Because at the end of the day you care about one thing, “RESULTS.”  Which is what we deliver time and time again.  We usually get a client that’s about to throw his (her) hands upon PPC and Zion Port becomes the last resort.  In their minds, a client would think, “If they can’t do it” then PPC is no good.

What tends to happen is the client starts with a high $3,000 budget and on the first month make back only $1500.  They put in an extra $500 for the following month and only make back $1,000.  What keeps them from making it all back is a lot of variables.  Each client has their own set of issues that were never addressed or they never knew about it.   So usually they’ll approach us with that $1,000 budget and ask if we can work with it.

Over the years our skill and experience have shot through the roof.  Zion Port launched in 2013 but I’ve been in the internet marketing industry since 2011.  In the two your span I’ve started to put together a team of professionals like myself before I decided to give us a name.  By the first official year, we’ve perfect a process across the board so I can say since 2014 every PPC campaign we’ve taken on, the client received a full ROI in the first to second week of the campaign.  With very little of that budget spent at the same time.  When a client views the dashboard that we give them, they’re able to see the progress in real-time.  Again by the second week we’re always getting a call where they’ll say I just made $1.5k and more and you’ve barely scratched a quarter of our budget.

Again, it’s not a matter of how we’re different.  It’s a matter of why we’re different.  If you’re still having a hard time overcoming your paid advertising campaigns.  Talk to us.  I’m sure we can help.

User Experience is Important for SEO

clean web designUser experience is something that shouldn’t be an afterthought when you design your small business web design project.  People will appreciate a clean design and it’s possible to have a poor experience at the same time.  When the experience is poor it tends to provoke an unhappy response with your visitors.  They may not protest but they’ll do the next worse thing that you’d want them to do.

They’ll leave the website.  Back in 2015, I talked about how having a clean web design is important for that year and beyond.  It still is but the further step to the message when entering into 2017 is that the experience has to match the visuals.  This means the buttons, links and videos have to work.  People will tolerate at least one or two error pages before they give up on the site.  Personally speaking, I’m off of the website at the second error page.

When designing a website my team and I start with the inner pages and contact page first.  Then we have to determine which page is the most important to the least important.  Pages like: About us, Services, Products, Pricing, Blog, Testimonials and more.   Then if the pages had sub-pages we then have to do the same thing there.  Example, if you have 5 different services that you’re wanting to offer.  We try to use the information from our questionnaire to tell us if there is one service you’d really like to capture more leads for.

The entire experience for the user is then a natural one.  If you’re a dentist and you’re really wanting to focus on cosmetic dentistry.  It’s not that you don’t do everything else but sometimes you want to focus on your cash cow.  There’s no shame in that.  So we know that if we also marketing for your website that the design of the website will focus heavily on cosmetic dentistry because these are the clients we are focusing on in the campaign.  We know this if I’m looking for cosmetic dentistry the website has to tell me I’m at the right spot.

The user experience has to be flawless with the design otherwise it might well-dressed pig.  So when I’m going to call you if I’m on the phone or send you a message if I’m on the computer or tablet.  These have to work or else I click the back button to the next user down the list.  Which will hurt you in the long run.

Think Like Google

If someone asks you for advice and you direct them to “Point A” for a good solution and you do this ten times over.  You learn later that “Point A” provide a really bad experience.  What will you do now when someone asks for the same advice?  You stop recommending “Point A.”  Generally, your credibility is on the line for one.  Because if people learn that you’re giving out bad advice, no one is going to want to deal with you and you know it.  Google operates the same way.  The moment they learn that they are providing a website that isn’t a good experience or good design they will de-rank your website from the search results.  They will not remove you but you’ll lose first-page ranking results.
