Quality Content is Still Trending in 2017
We are one month away from experiencing a brand new year. With a new year brings new challenges. In the internet marketing industry, there are things that are worth noting to be sure we’re ready for the latest marketing trends of the new year. The way we’re able to follow this is because we are seeing the shifts in the industry and where they are going. Let’s go over a few of them.
One of the major trends that aren’t changing but in fact is becoming just as stable is quality content. Is this really a trend? It’s no different than saying affordable search engine optimization services is trending. We’ve been preaching quality content since 2011. The reason why this is still being talked about is because it’s not being done like it should.
Have you ever been on ten different sites and you’re getting a lot of the same information just worded differently? The reason why many sites don’t rank well is because of the lack of quality control. More importantly, the links that are pointing to the website are poorly done.
An example of how poor content is done. Blog A: “Water is good for losing weight.” Blog B: “Lose weight drinking water.”
What’s wrong with this? It’s the same message. If I wanted to know the benefits of water from two sources and this is what I get. I’m not getting anything new.
There’s a difference in sharing your take on the topic and simply blending an already written article. It’s one thing to speak the same thing. Which is nice, because there is validation in Person A and Person B are saying “Drinking water shrinks the belly.”
How does this go wrong?
There are tools out there that allow people to skip the research process of content writing. These tools are known as scrapers. Essentially the way it works is the tool goes to blog A and copies the first paragraph. Goes to blog B and copies the first paragraph and does the same on blog C. Then it will paste those paragraphs in an article so it looks like unique.
Is there a solution? You can have more dense content. I mean you could write a 1,000-word article and only 50 words are valuable. It’s a tough thing to do to write engaging quality content.
When Zion Port write articles we are researching on the topic. What we want to know is what’s the trending problem at the time that we’d like to address. Going back to the “lose weight” topic. We know losing weight isn’t what they’re just looking for. A person might be looking for a fast way to do it or an easy way. Perhaps a combination of them both.
We might write an article that is titled, “Drink water is a fast and easy way to lose weight.” We aren’t going to copy what Blog A and Blog B says. We might be inspired by some of that content but we’re not copying a paragraph to put down in our article. Essentially if I can sum it up we’re researching the topic and sharing with you what we’ve learned yet to keep it relevant and accurate as much as possible.
Let’s keep our content for 2017 in very good quality.
*disclaimer* In the article is written about lose weight tips. It’s used for explanations only and I can’t validate if that is true. So keep in mind it’s only there to share the points of the article. I can say that water is essential for life but anything beyond that it’s about making points to the topic.
